Sri-Ramanathaswamy-Temple

          The temple is built in the heart of Rameshwaram because it is not a simple temple but also a very important temple in the heart of Rameshwaram. The temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Though the temple is an ancient history, the present design of the temple is believed to have been built by the Pandyas in the 12th century. Art and architecture are one of the wonders of the temple. That is why lakhs of devotees visit this religious temple throughout the year.

Adam Bridge, Rameshwaram

          Rama built the Adam Bridge, or Rama Bridge, with monkeys or monkeys that helped save Sita from Ravana. In the Ramayana, the bridge was built between Pamban Island on the southeast coast of Tamil Nadu and the Mannar Islands in the northwest of Sri Lanka.

          Geologists confirm that this bridge was a bridge that connects India and Sri Lanka and facilitates human walking. Pamban Bridge, Rameshwaram

Pamban Bridge,The official name of the famous Pamban Bridge, which extends across the Palk Strait of Rameshwaram, is the official name of the Annai Indira Salai Bridge, the only bridge that connects Rameshwaram with the rest of the country. This is the first of the bridges built on the sea. The 2.3 km bridge is the second largest sea bridge in the country. It is built as part of the Southern Railway project. The bridge was started in 1887 and was completed in 1912.

          While the bridge was being constructed, the workmen built the famous temple of Neil-Mandir, which has seven round edges, which stands out as evidence of the hard work of the builders, and the bridge is a discretion to cover the bridge.

Agni Theertham, Rameshwaram

          The first spring outside the Sri Ramanathaswamy temple is Agni Theertham. While other theertha sits in the tanks and inside the temple, this unique spring is on one side of the sea .It is said in the Puranas that Lord Rama bathed in this part of the sea after killing Ravana and prayed for lord Shiva's blessings while bathing in the Tank. Lord Rama is also required to grant his salvation for the killing of a Brahmin. It is believed that bathing in this theertha will remove the sins committed on earth.

          The tour to Rameshwaram begins only after bathing in this fire theertha and hence all those who come here are also taking bath in this spring. However, there are occasional questions about the health quality of the tank. The holy tourists want to take care of this religiously important water.

Dhanushkodi, Rameshwaram

           Sim’Dhanushkodi village on Rameshwaram Island (now growing as a city) is located on the eastern coast of the island on the southern coast of the island. It is located about 31 km from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka. According to the Puranas, Vibhishana, the younger brother of Ravana, asked Ramto break the Sethu Bridge. On that request, Lord Rama knocked on sethu with his bow or a tip of Dhanush.In fact, even today, the footprints of this bridge, built under the supervision of Lord Ram, can be seen at Dhanushkodi.

          The bridge is still called the Ram Bridge. Since the water from Setu is considered to be very sacred, pilgrims take bath here before going to Rameshwaram. Similarly, it is believed that those who are on pilgrimage to Kasi should come to Rameshwaram and end their pilgrimage.

Panchamukha Hanuman Temple, Rameshwaram

         The five-faced Hanuman temple is the most famous temple after the Sri Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameshwaram.The idols were brought to the place where the storm destroyed dhanushkodi village in 1964. It is believed that the souls of these gods are inside them. This is the reason why tourists from all over India visit the temple.Another important feature of this temple is the floating stone outside the temple. It is believed that the stone was part of a bridge built by Hanuman and other vanara soldiers to visit Sri Lanka where Ravana was living.

Jada Theertham, Rameshwaram:

          Jada Theertham is 3.5 km from Rameshwaram on the Dhanushkodi route. Most tourists going to Dhanushkodi also take a bath in Theertha.The theertha, which is closely associated with Lord Rama, is said to have been standing on the way to Ayodhya to rescue Goddess Sita by killing Ravana.Lord Rama was healed by his jada and sabotage the sin of the Brahmana.

          The temple is very small compared to the other temples around Rameshwaram. In fact, it is built in another theertham called Kaveri Theertham. Not only this, it is also considered to be the place where Jatayu, the king of birds was attacked and killed by Ravana.

Kodandarama Temple, Rameshwaram

            The Kodandaramtemple at Rameshwaram is a sacred place where rama consoled The brother of Ravana and the king of Sri Lanka after the killing of Ravana.The temple was endangered when the Sethusamudram Ship Canal Project was launched but the changes in the schemes relieved the traditional temple from the danger of the temple, which is the livelihood of the fishermen and the local people who depend on tourism. Kanthamadana Parvatham, Rameshwaram
